Santa Clara Setup

It’s been less than a week since I’ve moved down to Manchester (the street I’m living on) in Santa Clara but I’m already feeling so closely connected to the community we’ve formed here. Not only within the house, but with other students, especially the cadre in Park Central. It’s nice to be able to form closer friendships than I would have been able to if I’d had to commute to every event/gathering. Celebrity Jeopardy hasn’t been so much fun since I left the ASFC.

I’ve finally gotten a bike set up down here and it’s cutting down my travel time between places. I can get to Park Central in several minutes where before it would be a twenty minute walk one way. I need to get back in shape on the bike though (back in shape *scoff*). Still need to figure out a good way to get to an Asian market.

My classes are getting exciting. Well…not the classes themselves, but I’m able to work closer with my teachers on projects such as setting up Angel (online line class supplements) and my senior thesis. I’ve tweaked my thesis so I’ll be able to bring in more contemporary sources. I’m going to try to look at the way China’s first emperor 秦始皇帝 (Qin Shi Huang Di) has been portrayed following the rise of Communist China. Which means I get to watch Hero Grin .
